The Bookish Jinni’s March Wrap-up: Means and Extremes

Woooh! March went by so fast. This month has been so exciting since this is my first month (properly) blogging and being actively interacting with the bookish community. Anyway, the books I read this month were, as seen above, means and extremes. Which means I read great books and bad books in the same month. It’s been quite the emotional roller coaster considering I JUST FREAKING FINISHED 11TH GRADE in my pre-med school! Woot! Woot!

Physical Books

The Secret History by Donna Tartt (Rating: 5 stars)

Or should I say, physical book considering I only read this one. I don’t mind though, because this has been my best 2017 read so far. You can read a different sort of review which I did for this magnificent book here. Btw,  I’m so glad I got this for a cheaper price at my local bookstore, but, you can buy it here since I highly recommend it.

The Voices of Martyrs by Maurice Broaddus (Rating: 5 stars)

29362866This is such a powerful and insightful book. I can’t stress it enough that everyone, everyone should go read this collection of voices. Buy it here.

Four Kings by MD Elster (Rating: 4 stars)

I was so over the moon with this dark, noir, Alice in Wonderland-like book with its gorgeous illustrations, exciting premise, and unexpected twists and turns. You’ll never guess what’s coming! Highly recommended! 🙂

The Animal Under the Fur by EJ Mellow (Rating: 3 stars)

animal.jpgThis book is one of the most anticipated action romance novels of the year! EJ Mellow did a stunning job of introducing an X-men like main character that more than made up for it with a great amount of sass and the right amount of spice that will delight NA and romance readers alike. I was lucky enough to take part in the release blitz and offer you guys a chance at winning a giveaway sponsored by the author.

Last and definitely the least…

Snowed by Maria Alexander (Rating: 2 stars on Goodreads. Maybe 1.5? Okay let’s leave it at 1)

31559083This book definitely had a lot of problems and I was so surprised that it had a lot of good reviews on Goodreads. Find out why here.

I’ll be posting my March Book Haul and April TBR next!
