I’m sure you guys all know that I’m a huge fantasy fan. There’s just something so amazing in discovering different worlds and finding new cultures. And this April, I gathered a list of my most anticipated ya fantasy reads that are unique, dark, and different than most. Make sure to pre-order them to get ahead of the trends!

Shadowcaster (Shattered Realms #2) by Cinda Williams Chima

Genre: Young Adult, High Fantasy

30988481This book is the second one in the series by the fabulous Cinda Williams Chima. Alright, I admit, I haven’t read the first book yet but I am planning too. This series has been sniffing around on my tbr but I want to binge-read this once all the books are out. Nevertheless, I’m still pre-ordering this and the first one because – gasp – their are imminent cover changes. And we all know how ugly that is. Sooo. Buy it here 🙂

Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis

Genre: Young Adult, High Fantasy

25314447I read Mindy McGinnis’ “Not a Drop to Drink” a year ago, and unfortunately, I didn’t like it as much. That ruined my appetite for her next books to come even though there seems to be a great amount of hype surrounding her books. However, this novel caught my eye for it’s interesting and dark synopsis and a stellar cover. Looking forward to this one. Buy it here 😉

Red Sister (Book of the Ancestor #1) by Mark Lawrence

Genre: Young Adult, High Fantasy, Dark Fantasy

33129035I was literally screaming when I read the blurb! ASSASSIN NUNS! BADASS WOMEN! WAR! DEATH! This book is definitely my cup of tea. If you guys loved Nevernight, then this one is for you. Buy it here 🙂
